Dear Patients,

Much has been written and televised about several "new technologies" which claim to sculpt fat in a non-invasive way. One of the technologies, with a brand-name starting with the letter "Z"and one technology with a brand-name starting with a "V" have both touted virtual overnight fat reduction. We all wish this was possible, but unfortunately neither technology causes no more than a temporary improvement or shrinkage. There are no peer-reviewed publications which feature double-blind studies which support the claims made by the manufacturers.

Currently, the only non-invasive technology which has been shown in double-blind studies to reduce size is Thermage. It is the only technology recognized by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery as a legitimate body-shaper.
