Information You Should Know About Moisturizers

  • Daytime moisturizers for the face, hands and neck should always contain a sunscreen.
  • It is best to apply a moisturizer while the skin is still damp from cleansing.
Moisturizers can be classified into two basic groups: active or passive.

Passive moisturizers act as occlusive barriers against the evaporative loss of water.

Active moisturizers change the structure of the skin to eventuate stronger skin integrity.

Most active moisturizers require a dermatologist's recommendation because success is based on the skin requirements of the patient.

Ask Dr. Glavey if your skin would benefit from an active moisturizer.
