A WORD ABOUT MOISTURIZERS

·  Daytime moisturizers for the face, hands and neck should always contain a  sunscreen.

·  It is best to apply a moisturizer while the skin is still damp from cleansing.

Moisturizers can be classified into two basic groups: active or passive.

Passive moisturizers:

Act as occlusive barriers against the evaporative loss of water.

Active moisturizers:

Change the structure of the skin to eventuate stronger skin integrity.

Most active moisturizers require a dermatologist's recommendation because success is based on the skin requirements of the patient.

Ask Dr. Glavey if your skin would benefit from an active moisturizer.
